How To Set your own San kalpa
Find your self a very relaxed moment;
Maybe after your yoga sessions, before your meditation,
just when you wake up or before you fall a sleep.
Maybe after your yoga sessions, before your meditation,

How to relax..
Lay down, bring your attention to your breath. Observe your breath; follow your inhale through the nose, into the body. Follow the exhale, leaving the body with out any force. Need more? Try to count your breath backwards from 27 or 14 to 0.. In 14 // out 14 - In 13 // Out 13 - and so on. If you lose count, just start over, don't judge.. Its not about reaching 0 ;).. Feel your body touching the floor, feel where it connects. Let your whole body melt into the ground beneath you. Soft and warm.... |

When you are relaxed, soft, warm..
Find (feel) your heart-felt desire;
What do you need right now in your life or in the life of you and the others/world.
Formulate this desire in your own positive affirmation;
A short simple sentence, stating you ARE already there*..
A positive statement, in the present time.

A positive statement, in the present time.
- Start your sentence with; I AM....
- Repeat your San Kalpa 3 times, in your head.
- Imagine the words, see the sentence.
- Feel it with every inhale moving deeper into your body, feel it in your toes, feel it in your fingers.
- BELIEVE IT!
- Feel it in your heart, in the space around your heart, and save it there. Right there!
- Take a nice deep Inhale, through your nose, into the chest, the sides and in to your belly..
- Exhale through your mouth, without force. Let the air flow out....
Continue your relaxation exercise a bit longer,
till your whole body and mind dwell into the nothing.. Feel the Peace, Happiness and Joy inside of you:) Be proud of yourself for taking steps and to make time to relax!! Keep the same San Kalpa with you for a while, keep using the same frase, as long as you feel like it is still an active desire of your heart.. Use your San Kalpa at the end of every class, while you are soothing your body and mind in Savasana (Corpse Pose). |
A resolve or sankalpa is made during the practice of yoga nidra. It should be something of immense importance to you. Resolves are short sentences of moral significance to be embedded in the subconscious such as 'I resolve to stop smoking.' In the state of yoga nidra passivity, this autosuggestion is very powerful. Such resolves can change your whole life. They will certainly come true if you repeat your resolve with enough conviction. By this method you can change old habits and cure certain mental illnesses.
Sankalpas can also have a spiritual objective like 'I shall become more aware.' Your sankalpa or resolve should be repeated several times during the practice.
